I hate the 9-5 grind with an unmeasureable intensity. I've never even discussed the workplace here, because I like to separate work (job) and writing (passion). And I will continue to do so. But every now and then, I get one of those phone calls from one of those customers/idiots/a-holes...well, I think the illustration above says it all.
Man, I feel better.
Stay chill.
Yeah. I understand Kitty's frustration.
ReplyDeleteWhat doesn't kill you, etc. . .
ReplyDeleteDavid, always good to have you stop by. Been following your progress. Looks like Cash and Gideon are acquiring quite a following. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteRon, good to have you stop by. Still reading your blog most every day-one of the best out there. And bud, you are on the money with your comment! I figure it's a little better to vent here from time to time, rather than take it out on people who sure as hell don't deserve it.
I understand your pain, man. The 9-5 is soul killing unless your career is your passion. I'm lucky enough to have a very stop-and-go job which I can write a little and tend to my passion but ultimately, doing an utilitarian job to gather money to live and tend to your passion is a grueling way to lifve. I wish I had a better way of looking at it, but I don't. All I can say is that I understand.
ReplyDeleteBen, sounds like we have somewhat similar jobs. For the most part, I've got it a lot better than most people I can think of. Really. But people starting off a conversation with yelling is always tough. Not to mention I've been looking for an opportunity to use that picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, man. Dig your site, too.
hahahah IT Support?
ReplyDeleteI wish I were that intelligent-and I'm not being disingenuous. I'm in the bicycle manufacturing industry.
ReplyDeleteOccupational hazard: Overweight people in hi-viz yellow spandex and tight riding shorts may have turned me off permanently!
You don't need to be intelligent to be in IT, believe me!
ReplyDeleteHa! I'll take your word for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm right with you, Mike. My job is vexing me to the point that I cannot write more than a couple of sentences...fortnightly.
